Alleluia
The alleluia is added at the ends of sections of many chants. It
consists of a refrain on the word "alleluia" and is followed by a verse
or section with the refrain repeated. The "jubilus" is a vocal elaboration
on the final vowel of the alleluia that provides a strong impetus for musical
form.
