Francesco Geminiani (1687-1762)
An Italian violinist, composer, and writer. "The
Art of Playing the Violin", London 1730, was first published anonymously,
and was the first method for violin instruction to be written. This
work is of utmost importance in the study of principles of violin playing
of the Baroque era.
